Setting your home base and radius
Two settings that determine every match Mintoor shows you — both editable right on the Weekend Finder.
Home base
Profile → Settings → Home base.
Set the city you'd drive from to a gig. If you live in Ann Arbor and drive from there to gigs, set Ann Arbor — not Detroit metro.
Be specific. "Ann Arbor, MI" is better than "Michigan."
Radius
How far from home base you'll drive. Default 100 miles.
- 50 miles — hyperlocal. 30–45 min drives max. Good for weeknight gigs.
- 100 miles — standard. ~90 min one-way. Weekend sweet spot.
- 150 miles — extended. 2–3 hour drives. You're willing to leave earlier and get home later.
- 200+ miles — starts to feel like touring. You'll overnight for some gigs.
How it's used
Every Weekend Finder result sits inside your radius, and distance from your home base is the largest factor in each venue's fit score — so close rooms rise to the top naturally. Distances are straight-line miles; add your own buffer for mountain routes and city traffic when judging a drive.
Change it right on the page
You don't need a settings round-trip. The location field and radius slider sit at the top of the Weekend Finder — type any town, drag the slider, and the list re-ranks instantly. Planning a weekend around a trip? Type that city and plan from there; your home base stays put.
Some performers run tighter in winter (weather) and wider in summer — with the slider in-page, that's a two-second adjustment per session, not a settings change.
Still stuck?
- Matches feel too far even within my radius. Tighten the slider — the close rooms are already ranked first, so a tighter radius just trims the tail.
