Switching account types later

Your career changes. Mintoor changes with you — no data loss, no new account, no re-entering venues.

When you'd use this

You started as a regional performer and booked your first national tour. Or you started as a touring artist and your life pulled you closer to home. Or you're now managing another artist alongside your own project. All three scenarios are a role switch, not a new account.

Steps

  1. Open ProfileSettingsAccount type.
  2. Pick the new role (Touring, Regional, Band/Crew, Venue).
  3. Confirm. Mintoor updates your surfaces immediately — Router unlocks if you went to Touring, Weekend Finder replaces Tour list if you went to Regional, etc.

Your existing data (tours, gigs, venues, contacts, budget) stays intact. The app just shows you a different default shell.

What carries over vs. what doesn't

Always carries over:

  • Venue directory entries you've saved
  • Contact records for bookers, bandmates, crew
  • Budget entries, receipts, settlement history
  • Tours and gigs you've created (though they may be hidden if the new role doesn't surface them — unarchive if needed)
  • Your profile, photo, home city, timezone

Role-specific surfaces that get hidden:

  • Weekend Finder disappears if you leave Regional (you can still manually book single-night gigs — just no matchmaking feed)
  • The Router disappears if you leave Touring (your existing routed tours are preserved as plain tour records)
  • Roster P&L disappears if you leave Crew-tier manager

Changing plan vs. changing role. These are different. Changing your role doesn't change your billing tier. If you switch from Regional to Touring and want the Router, you'll also need to upgrade your plan. See Upgrading or downgrading your plan.

"Both" accounts

If you're actively a touring artist AND booking weekend gigs between runs, you don't switch — you use Touring (or Solo+) which includes Weekend Finder. See Understanding Mintoor's pricing tiers for the tier map.

Still stuck?

If a surface doesn't appear after switching, hard-refresh the browser tab (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R elsewhere). Cached bundles can take up to a minute to pick up the new role.
