Deactivating or deleting your account

Taking a break or walking away — Mintoor handles both, and you decide what happens to your data.

When you'd use this

Life changes. You're taking a year off the road and don't want to pay for a tool you won't use. Or you're stepping away from Mintoor entirely. This page explains the two paths.

Option 1: Deactivate (temporary)

What it does. Suspends your account. You stop being billed. Your data (tours, venues, contacts, receipts, settlement history) is preserved exactly as-is. Your profile is hidden from new venue lookups.

What it doesn't do. Doesn't delete your data. Doesn't cancel outstanding inquiries you've sent (those remain valid and venues can still reply). Doesn't remove you from band accounts where you're a member.

How to do it. Profile → Settings → Account → Pause account. One-click, effective immediately. You can reactivate anytime by logging back in — no re-setup needed.

Best for: tour breaks, seasonal slowdowns, uncertainty about whether you'll keep using Mintoor.

Option 2: Delete (permanent)

What it does. Permanently removes your account, profile, and personal data within 30 days. Mintoor stops billing immediately. You cannot recover the account or data after deletion completes.

What's preserved. Historical records that belong to other parties (a venue you claimed — the venue record stays; a tour where you're a collaborator — the tour stays for the owner; settlement records with payment history — kept for their tax record).

What's deleted. Your profile, your photos, your own tours and gigs, your budget entries, your messages, your preferences, your personal contact data.

How to do it. Profile → Settings → Account → Delete my account. Requires typing your email address to confirm (prevents accidents). You get a confirmation email with a 7-day grace period — click the "undo" link in that email and deletion is cancelled. After 7 days, deletion processes. Full purge completes within 30 days.

Best for: you're sure you're done with Mintoor, or you need to exercise a data-deletion right under GDPR/CCPA.

Exporting your data first

Regardless of which option you pick, export your data first so you have a copy. See Exporting data for your accountant for the CSV + PDF export flow. Tours and venues export as JSON via Settings → Data export → Download (one-time, hits your email).

Can I restart after deleting?

Yes, but you'd create a brand-new account from scratch. None of the deleted data is recoverable.

Billing

  • Deactivate: billing stops immediately. Any prepaid annual period is NOT refunded; your access just stays active until the period ends, then the account pauses.
  • Delete: billing stops immediately. Prepaid annual: see Requesting a refund.

Still stuck?

Deleted by mistake within the 7-day grace period? Click the "undo" link in the confirmation email or email hello@mintoor.com with the subject "Restore my account" — we can cancel the pending deletion.

After 7 days? We can't recover deleted data. Sorry.
