Anchoring confirmed shows
Got a confirmed show? Anchor it so the Router treats it as fixed and routes around it.
When to use this
You already booked a show. The deal's done. You don't want the Router moving it, swapping the venue, or replacing it with a "better" pick on the next re-run.
Examples:
- A festival slot you locked in months ago.
- A confirmed headlining date at a venue you played last year.
- A wedding gig in Denver you're tacking tour shows around.
How to anchor a show
- Open the tour, then open the stop (or add the show as a regular stop first).
- In the Venue section of the stop editor, find the Lock as anchor toggle below the status field.
- Tap it. The toggle turns green and shows a lock icon.
- Save.
That's it. The stop now has a small lock icon next to its name everywhere it appears in the app — tour list, day sheet, map view.
What anchoring actually does
When you re-run the Router on a tour that has anchored stops, the Router:
- Keeps the anchored show's venue, city, and date exactly as you set them.
- Will not pick the same venue again for a different date.
- Routes the rest of the tour around your anchors.
When you look at the result, anchored shows still show the lock icon, mixed in date order with the new stops the Router proposed.
Removing an anchor
Open the stop, tap the Anchored button to toggle it off. The stop becomes a normal stop again — fair game for the next re-run.
What's not in the v1
We shipped only the simplest, most useful version of this:
- One flavor: hard anchor — locked venue, locked date.
- No "must-play" mode (a venue you'd prefer if it fits).
- No city-only or date-only soft anchors.
- No conflict warnings — the Router treats anchors as gospel and will work around them. If you anchor two shows with a 12-hour drive between them in 24 hours, that's on you.
If you're hitting a real wall here and need softer anchoring (e.g. "Anywhere in Philly that week"), let us know — we'll prioritize it if enough artists ask.
