Starting a new tour
Create the shell. Anchor any confirmed shows. Hit Run. The Router does the rest.
When you'd use this
You've got a tour idea. Maybe a couple of confirmed dates already, the rest open. You want Mintoor to fill in the gaps.
Steps
- Tours → New tour.
- Name it. "Fall East Coast 2026" or whatever you'll recognize.
- Set the date window. Start and end. The Router routes within this window.
- Add any confirmed shows as stops, then anchor them (optional but recommended):
- Add the show as a regular stop with the venue, city, and date.
- On the stop detail page, toggle Lock as anchor.
- The Router will treat that stop as fixed and route around it.
- Set basic constraints (max drive, min guarantee, preferred regions). See Setting tour constraints.
- Save draft. Doesn't run the Router yet.
What happens next
Once the tour draft is saved, you have three options:
- Run the Router to generate routing suggestions automatically.
- Manually add stops one by one.
- Hybrid — anchor your confirmed shows, then let the Router fill the rest.
What an anchor does
An anchor is a confirmed show. The Router won't move it, swap the venue, or replace it on a re-run. See Anchoring confirmed shows for the full picture.
If you're not sure yet whether a date is confirmed, leave the stop as a regular pending stop. You can anchor it later once the deal's done.
Tour states
- Draft — editable shell, Router hasn't been run.
- Routed — Router has generated a suggested route.
- Outreach — you've locked in a version and are sending inquiries. Route is frozen.
- Confirmed — venues have replied, the tour is real.
- Completed — all shows played, P&L reconciled.
State transitions are explicit — Mintoor won't accidentally lock your route while you're still experimenting.
Starting over
You can regenerate the route as many times as you want while in Draft state. Each run is a fresh pass with your current constraints, and any anchored shows get preserved across runs.
Once you transition to Outreach, you freeze the route for the inquiries you've sent (venues don't like getting pitched and then re-pitched with different dates).
Still stuck?
- Can't save the tour? Check required fields (name, date window).
- Want to lock a stop after the fact? Open the stop, toggle Lock as anchor, save.
