Touring artist onboarding walkthrough
Ten minutes of setup up front buys you hours of saved friction later. Here's the order.
When you'd use this
You've just created your Mintoor account as a touring artist. You want the fastest path from zero to "I can route a real tour."
Steps
- Set your band profile. See Setting your band profile. Name, genre, home city, draw estimate, crew size. These flow into every tour plan and every inquiry.
- Connect streaming and socials. See Connecting your streaming and socials. Spotify, Apple Music, Instagram. These land on your public page and your outbound inquiries — venues want to see them.
- Define your target venue tiers. See Defining your target venue tiers. What capacity range do you play? 200–500 indie rooms? 500–800 mid-clubs? Filtering the Router.
- Set vehicle MPG, crew size, per diem defaults. Profile → Settings → Tour defaults. The Router uses these to compute drive costs per leg. Takes 60 seconds, saves you re-entering on every tour.
- Block any obvious unavailable dates. Family events, studio time, day-job obligations. See Blocking unavailable dates. The Router won't route around them if you haven't told it.
- Start a dummy tour to try the Router. Pick 3 anchor dates and cities, let the Router fill in the middle. You'll understand how it thinks after one run.
Checklist — by end of your first hour
- Band profile complete
- Streaming + socials linked
- At least one tour created (even a fake one)
- Ran the Router at least once
- Your calendar has any obvious blocks
- Notification preferences tuned to your liking
That's the full onboarding. You can now use the app productively.
What to skip on day one
- Team invites. Wait until you have at least one real tour confirmed before adding bandmates or crew. Otherwise they get invited to an empty account.
- Public artist page setup. You can do this in week two; it doesn't block anything else.
- QuickBooks sync. Crew-tier feature, Q2 2026 ETA, don't worry about it yet.
Still stuck?
