What proof of ownership is accepted

Today the claim flow uses an email-domain confirmation. Other methods are coming.

Email domain match (today)

How: Our system emails the venue's public-facing booking email (e.g., booking@thevenue.com). You click the verification link in that email.

Why it works: if you can receive and click an email on a domain matching your venue, you have control of that domain — reasonable proof.

Timeline: seconds after you click.

When this doesn't work: the venue uses a generic email provider (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail) instead of a custom domain. Email us and we'll work it out manually for now.

Coming soon

  • LinkedIn verification — share your profile showing current employment at the venue
  • Phone verification — we call the venue's main number and verify you by name
  • Additional documentation flow for edge cases (business card photo, work email signature screenshot, state business filings)

For now, edge cases route to hello@mintoor.com and we handle case-by-case.

Why we require proof

Unauthorized claims would be a mess:

  • A competitor could claim your venue and trash the listing
  • A former employee could lock you out of your own record
  • A scammer could redirect booking inquiries to themselves

So we verify. It's annoying but necessary.

What we DON'T require

  • Social security numbers
  • Bank account info
  • Notarized documents
  • Formal contracts

Keep it simple.
