Updating your venue's capacity and tier
After your claim is approved, here's how to fix whatever Mintoor got wrong.
Where
Venue dashboard → Edit venue.
Fields you can update
Identity
- Canonical name — what the venue calls itself publicly
- DBA / alternate names — "The Empty Bottle (Chicago)" has nicknames
- Address — street, city, state, zip
- Latitude/longitude — auto-derived from address but you can override for odd-location venues
- Phone — main / booking / day-of separate fields
- Website
- Social media — Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X
Booking
- Primary booker email — who gets artist inquiries
- Booker name
- Backup booker email — cc'd on inquiries
- Response time expectation ("I reply within 7 days" etc.)
Capacity
- Capacity — the real number you program for. Once you set it as a claimed venue, it's treated as authoritative.
- Multiple rooms — if venue has multiple performance spaces (front room, back room), add as separate venue records
Genre / programming
- Primary genres — what you actively book
- Also book — secondary genres, less frequent
- Don't book — explicitly excluded (prevents bad-fit inquiries)
Logistics
- Load-in type — front door / back door / loading dock / etc.
- Parking — details
- Backline provided — yes/no/optional, what specifically
- Hospitality standard — buyouts vs. catering
Business rules
- Minimum guarantee you'll pay
- Deal types you prefer (guarantee-only, versus, door-deal)
- Expense deductions (sound, marketing — what you typically pull)
- Payment method (cash, check, wire)
Accepting inquiries
- Accepting inquiries? (yes / limited / no)
- Notice period required — minimum days in advance
- Blackout dates — calendar view, mark unavailable
- Monthly capacity — how many shows/month (if you want to limit volume)
What updates immediately vs. needs review
Updates immediately (live in 60 seconds):
- Contact info
- Genres
- Booking preferences
- Hospitality defaults
Goes through review (24 hours):
- Capacity changes that feel anomalous (e.g., jumping from 200 to 5000 — we'd confirm)
- Venue closing / shutting down signals
- Address changes (occasionally — to prevent location-swapping fraud)
Rollback
Edit history with one-click rollback is on the roadmap. For now, if you make a wrong edit, manually update the field back to the prior value — or email us if you've lost track of what it was before.
Still stuck?
- Field missing you need to set. Email us — we add new fields based on claimed-venue requests.
