Sending your first message

Compose a message, pick recipients, hit send. 30 seconds.

When you'd use this

You need to tell your tour manager about a schedule change, send the merch guy an updated setlist, or ping the venue booker about arrival time.

Steps

  1. Tap the message icon in the top nav (desktop: top-right; mobile: same spot, tap the chat bubble).
  2. Click Compose. The contact picker opens.
  3. Pick recipients by section: Venues / Team / Booking agents / Vendors. You can pick multiple. If it's a group thread, everyone sees the whole thread.
  4. Type your subject (optional but recommended — helps threads show up in search). If you skip it, Mintoor auto-fills based on the first message text.
  5. Type your message. Supports Markdown (bold, italic, bullet lists, links). Supports @mentions if you type @ and pick someone in the thread.
  6. Attach files if needed — drag and drop, or click the paperclip. PDFs, images, audio snippets, MP4 video. 25 MB per file max, up to 10 files per message.
  7. Send. The thread appears in your Messages list. Recipients get a push or email based on their notification preferences.

Keyboard shortcuts (desktop)

  • Cmd/Ctrl + Enter — send
  • Cmd/Ctrl + K — add attachment
  • @ — start mentioning someone
  • Esc — close compose

What shows up for recipients

Your message appears:

  • In-app: the bell icon lights up, thread appears in their Messages inbox.
  • Push notification: if they have the app installed and notifications enabled.
  • Email: summary email with a link to reply (unless they've muted emails for the thread).

Recipients reply inline — no forwarding, no thread forks.

Markdown quick reference

  • **bold**bold
  • *italic*italic
  • [link](https://mintoor.com)link
  • - item → bulleted list
  • > quote → blockquote

Code blocks (triple backtick) also render, which is useful for sharing setlists or stage plots.

Attachments: what recipients see

  • Images render inline.
  • PDFs show a preview card; click to download.
  • Audio plays with inline player (good for sharing rough mixes, setlist demos).
  • Video plays inline for MP4; other formats link-out.

Still stuck?

  • Can't find a contact? They must be in your Mintoor contact tree first. See How Mintoor messaging works.
  • Attachment failing? Check file size (under 25 MB) and format. Try re-compressing images.
