Setting your genre and act preferences

Tell Mintoor who you program. Artists outside those tags won't waste your time.

Where

Venue dashboard → Preferences → Programming.

Genre tags

Pick the genres you actively book. Examples:

  • "indie rock" + "singer-songwriter" + "americana"
  • "hip-hop" + "R&B" + "soul"
  • "metal" + "hardcore" + "punk"

Artists looking for venues in those genres will see your room surface in their feed. Anything you didn't tag will surface less.

Coming soon

A primary / secondary / explicit-exclude split — so you can say "I actively book X, would consider Y, never book Z" — is on the roadmap. Today it's a single tag list.

Capacity range

You can set the capacity range you book for, which artists' draw estimates are matched against:

  • "We're a 300-cap room, we book artists who draw 150–400"

Why this matters

Saves your inbox triage time. The more accurate your tags, the less off-fit traffic you see.

Review and update quarterly

Your programming evolves. Review preferences every 3 months. What seemed primary a year ago might be different now.

Still stuck?

  • Relevant artists aren't reaching your inbox. Add more tags.
  • Getting too many low-fit inquiries. Tighten genre tags.
