Reading your invoice
What's on your Mintoor invoice, in plain English.
When you'd use this
You received an invoice email, or you're grabbing invoices for your accountant, and you want to understand what you're paying for.
How to get your invoice
Every time Mintoor bills you (or issues a credit), Stripe emails you the invoice automatically. You can also manage invoices anytime through the Stripe customer portal:
- Profile → Subscription → Manage billing.
- The link opens your Stripe portal in a new tab.
- From the portal you can view past invoices, see line items, and access PDFs Stripe generates.
Invoices are retained for seven years (US tax requirement).
Line items explained
A standard Mintoor invoice has one or two lines:
- Subscription — your tier's monthly or annual fee (e.g., "Touring — monthly — $64.00").
- Proration — if you upgraded, downgraded, or changed quantity mid-cycle, the adjustment appears as a separate line with its own date range.
Additional lines that can appear:
- Tax — state sales tax (US), VAT (EU/UK). Auto-calculated from your billing address.
- Coupon / discount — if you're on a promotional rate (e.g., "Beta 50% off"), the discount is subtracted as a negative line.
- Credit applied — if we issued a credit note for a previous overcharge or downgrade, it's applied here.
Tax handling
- US customers: state sales tax applied where required. Your billing state = the tax rate. To update, change your billing address in the Stripe portal.
- EU / UK customers: VAT applied per your country. Businesses: enter a valid VAT ID in the portal for zero-rated reverse-charge.
- Other regions: no tax applied.
- Tax-exempt organizations: email us your exemption certificate and we'll apply tax-exempt status.
Currency
Invoices are issued in USD by default. European customers can opt into EUR or GBP by emailing us — currency can't be changed mid-subscription without a one-time downtime (few minutes).
Company name and billing address
What appears on invoices is configurable via the Stripe portal. See Updating your billing information for details.
Match to your bank statement
Mintoor charges appear on statements as MINTOOR or MINTOOR INC depending on your bank. If you see a charge from STRIPE with "Mintoor" in the description — same thing. Stripe handles the payment plumbing.
