Mintoor is slow or unresponsive

Pages loading slowly or not at all. Let's figure out where the bottleneck is.

When you'd use this

Mintoor is taking forever or timing out.

Check these in order

1. Is it just you?

Open mintoor.com on a different device or in a private/incognito window. Still slow? It's probably on our side (see step 5). Fine on the other device? Something device-specific is going on.

2. Check your network

  • Run a quick speed test at fast.com. You need at least 5 Mbps for comfortable Mintoor use.
  • If you're on Wi-Fi, try cellular or vice versa.
  • If you're on venue Wi-Fi at a house show, it may be saturated by other devices — tether to your phone instead.

3. Try a different browser

Occasionally browser extensions (ad blockers, privacy plugins, password managers) interfere with Mintoor. Try:

  • A private/incognito window (disables most extensions).
  • A different browser (Chrome → Safari, or vice versa).

If the incognito window fixes it, one of your extensions is the culprit. Disable them one at a time to find which.

4. Hard refresh

Sometimes an old version of Mintoor is cached in your browser and causes weird behavior.

  • Mac: Cmd+Shift+R to force-refresh.
  • Windows/Linux: Ctrl+Shift+R.
  • iOS/Android (mobile web): Close the tab, reopen.

5. Check the Mintoor status page

Visit status.mintoor.com. If we're aware of a slowdown, it's posted there with an ETA on resolution.

6. Operations that are just slow

Some things genuinely take a few seconds:

  • Running the Router on a new tour — 15–45 seconds. Not a bug.
  • Exporting a year's worth of budget data — 10–20 seconds.
  • Loading a long venue list — a few seconds on first open, quicker after.

If it's one of those and it finishes, not a bug.

Reporting slowness

If you've tried the above and it's consistently slow:

  1. Open your browser's developer tools → Network tab.
  2. Reload the page and note which requests are slow.
  3. Screenshot the Network tab.
  4. Email hello@mintoor.com with the screenshot, your browser, and your rough location. It helps us trace the bottleneck.

Known performance notes

  • First load after we ship an update is a bit slower than normal — usually back to full speed within a minute.
  • First Router run on a new tour is slower than subsequent runs on the same tour.
  • Venue search pages through results as you scroll — loading everything at once isn't supported.

Still stuck?

If the app is consistently slow for regular operations (not the Router, not exports), that's a real problem and we want to hear about it. Email hello@mintoor.com with details.
