The mobile app is crashing

Mintoor keeps closing, freezing, or showing a blank screen. Here's how to unstick it.

When you'd use this

The Mintoor app on your phone is misbehaving. Could be crashing on launch, freezing on a specific screen, or showing the spinner forever.

Try these in order (fastest to slowest)

1. Force-quit and relaunch

  • iOS: swipe up from the bottom, swipe the Mintoor card up to kill it, then reopen.
  • Android: open Recent Apps, swipe Mintoor away, then reopen.

Fixes ~60% of transient issues.

2. Check your internet

Mintoor needs a live connection for most operations. If you're in a venue basement with bad signal:

  • Try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular.
  • Open mintoor.com in your phone browser. If that's also slow, it's a connectivity issue, not a Mintoor issue.

3. Clear app cache

  • iOS: Settings → Mintoor → Clear cache. (If the app is too broken to open, uninstall and reinstall — see step 5.)
  • Android: Settings → Apps → Mintoor → Storage → Clear cache (not "Clear data" — that signs you out).

4. Check for an update

Outdated app versions sometimes hit backend incompatibilities.

  • iOS: App Store → your profile → scroll to Mintoor. Update if available.
  • Android: Play Store → Mintoor → Update.

5. Uninstall and reinstall

Nuclear option. Forces a clean install.

  • iOS: long-press the app → Remove App → Delete App. Then reinstall from the App Store.
  • Android: long-press → Uninstall. Reinstall from Play Store.

You'll be signed out. Sign back in with a magic link. None of your data is lost — it's all server-side.

6. Fall back to the web app

If the mobile app keeps failing, use mintoor.com in Safari or Chrome on your phone. Same data, same features, no install needed.

Reporting a crash

If the problem persists, help us fix it:

  1. Take a screenshot of the error (or the frozen state).
  2. Note: what screen you were on, what you were trying to do, iOS/Android version, Mintoor app version (Settings → About).
  3. Email hello@mintoor.com with "Mobile crash" in the subject.

On iOS, you can also auto-send crash logs: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share with App Developers. We get anonymized crash reports from all users who opt in — very useful for spotting patterns.

Known issues (current)

As of April 2026, there's one recurring iOS issue we're tracking:

  • Stuck on "Loading..." after a long period offline — force-quit and relaunch fixes it. Proper fix ships in the next release.

No active Android-specific known issues.
