What is a venue inquiry?
A venue inquiry is Mintoor's version of the "cold pitch email" — structured, trackable, and sent through our domain so you don't burn your personal email's reputation.
When you'd use this
You just learned about a venue and want to pitch it for a date. Or you're wondering why the emails you send from Mintoor look different from ones you'd send from Gmail.
The concept
An inquiry is an outbound message from you to a venue booker. Mintoor:
- Composes a structured email using your tour details (dates, draw, genre, streaming links) and your custom text
- Sends it from
[your-slug]@outreach.mintoor.com— looks like a legit booking email, tracked on our infrastructure - Tracks delivery status (sent, delivered, opened, replied, bounced)
- Captures the venue's reply in your Mintoor inquiries inbox
You never leave Mintoor. The venue sees a normal email with a reply-to address that routes replies back into our system.
Why not just send from Gmail?
- Deliverability. Our domain has a warmed-up reputation; your personal Gmail sending 50 cold pitches a week doesn't, and lands in spam.
- Tracking. Gmail can't tell you who opened, bounced, or replied. We can.
- Unsubscribe handling. We honor unsubscribes automatically. You don't risk CAN-SPAM violations.
- Reply routing. Replies come back into Mintoor's structured inbox with the context attached (tour, date, deal terms), not a flat email thread.
What a typical inquiry looks like
Subject: [Artist Name] — touring [city], [month] [year]
Body preview:
Hi [booker name],
I'm [Artist Name], an indie [genre] band based in [home city].
We're routing a tour through [region] the week of [dates],
drawing ~[N] at our core markets.
Past shows: [venue 1], [venue 2], [venue 3]
Streaming: [Spotify link]
Are you booking [specific date] at [venue name]?
Guarantee target: $[X]. Happy to talk deal structure.
— [Name]
[Reply-to address]
You customize the template once in your Outreach settings. Per-inquiry you can tweak the specifics.
What happens to replies
- The venue replies via email. Their reply lands in the Mintoor inquiries inbox.
- You see it in Inquiries, threaded with the original pitch.
- You reply from within Mintoor. Your reply goes out via our email infrastructure again.
- The whole conversation is captured and linked to the tour/stop.
Limits and etiquette
- Bulk sends are rate-limited. You can't spray 500 venues a minute. Mintoor caps sending at reasonable per-artist rates to protect deliverability.
- Unsubscribes are honored automatically. If a venue says "remove me" or clicks unsubscribe, they're blocked from future sends.
- Bounces are tracked. If an email bounces, Mintoor flags the venue as unreachable and we don't retry.
Still stuck?
- Just want to message a venue you already know? That's not an inquiry — that's a regular message. Inquiries are only for first-touch outbound.
- Want to personalize every pitch heavily? That's fine — use Mintoor's "Draft mode" which lets you review each pitch before it sends. See How Mintoor sends booking inquiries.
